Literature Evangelist Team Leaders from around Australia and New Zealand came together for an important meeting at the SDA Union Office in Ringwood.

SPD Interim Publishing Director Jared French led out and God’s Spirit was very present. Special guests and speakers were Pr Jorge Munoz (AUC President), Pr Christian Copaceanu, Pr Kevin Geelan and Signs Publishing Company General Manager Andrew Irvine.

Our calling from God was rekindled in our minds, and Literature Ministry development strategies were discussed and agreed to action.

With God’s blessings we aim to continue to work in partnership with our conference churches to further the gospel in their immediate communities. We will continue to distribute SDA resources and provide good quality contacts for church members and Pastors to follow up.

We all felt the presence of the Holy Spirit leading and steering His ordained end-time ministry in the direction it should go.

2017 will be another good year for Literature Ministry. It will be a year where we will not only see growth in our Literature Ministry workers, but we will see many come to know Jesus as a result of this amazing person to person God ordained ministry.

All glory to you God.

Tom the Athiest

I found myself sitting outside under a patio talking to a young man named Tom. The weather was awesome making the perfect setting for a new friendship with heavenly potential.

Looking at my shirt Tom picked up on the word Beyond and seeing the colour blue, Tom thought I was from Beyond Blue, the website to help people with Depression and Tom mentioned that we were doing an excellent Job to help with people with Mental Illness, from my side of the door I was not sure why he mentioned Mental illness but I went straight into my testimony of living with Bipolar for the last 13 years, I could see Tom Identified having challenges of his own with mental illness so I invited him out of his home and onto the patio for a chat he agreed and Praise God for that!

I went through the canvas and we had a wonderful chat about Tom and his life and health, I summoned up the courage to bring forth the bible as I uttered a silent prayer, this took the conversation on a spiritual direction and Tom told me he considered himself an atheist even though he had read the Bible and a Koran, and said he was open to the very slight possibility that there just might be something out there.

I was truly amazed that Tom read the bible, this really warmed my heart. As our time was drawing to an end I offered Tom a Signs magazine, Steps to Christ and a Great Controversy, he accepted the lot thank God for that!, I also canvassed the You-Turn health booklet for a donation, Tom popped back inside his home to get the donation he returned with crisp $50.00 bill and a thank you for doing a great Job, I humbly accepted the kind gift and shot a thank-you prayer to my God, Wow!

The close of my time with this young atheist was brought to and end with a special prayer to our God above. Even this small heavenly gesture left me in a state of wow again.

Thanks and many praise to Jesus for a desire to serve and to see God work in so many wonderful ways touching hearts and saving souls - Amen

LE's visit Stawell

To further assist in the spreading of the Adventist message to their area, Justin Bone, Pastor of the Stawell SDA church invited a small number of Literature Evangelists to help find further contacts for church member follow up. In the 3 days of door knocking LEs Peter Smith, Gillian Taylor, Joe Paola and Sandy Wallis worked a combined total of 85 hrs on the doors, prayed in 19 homes, sold over $1000 worth of Adventist literature, gave out over 400 pieces of free literature and had 29 people accept to watch our initial Beyond DVD. These 29 homes will now be visited by Justin and Stawell church members.

John (All names changed) invited Gillian into his home. As Gillian was sharing, John's friend arrived and took over the conversation and so she politely left. After unsuccessfully knocking on a few more doors she went back to the car and prayed about which street to go to next. Gillian was led to an area which she had been canvassing the day before. Knocked on a door and it was John who answered! He was visiting his parents!  God had orchestrated this meeting and Gillian was able to share the three angels' messages. It turned out he was a Christian, doesn't go to church, and has been doing Bible studies with a friend. They had worked out what the first beast of Revelation 13 represented and he was enthralled with what Gillian shared. He gladly took a Bible Prophecy correspondence card.

Christie answered the door and invited Peter in and was introduced to her husband Bruce and their three children. “I must admit at first glance I was sceptical. Both were covered from head to foot in tattoos…” – Peter.

As Peter began his presentation to Christie, Bruce moved from the other side of the room in his comfy chair and sat on the floor near his wife’s feet. They shared of their failed attempt and disappointment to go vegan and their longing to still be vegetarians.  They also expressed their frustration with their own minister and presently worship at home. When Peter offered the Beyond DVDs they willingly accepted and also took a copy of the book, The Great Controversy as Christie loves reading and history. After prayer Peter left thanking and praising God for a loving and thoughtful family. He also asked God for forgiveness for wrongly judging them at the beginning of their visit.

Sandy stepped onto a small rickety veranda; shortly Dave stepped out and welcomed her.  Caring for his aged mother, he listened to the focus on health for a few minutes, then Sandy offered Dave a Signs magazine before leaving.  He looked closely at the fine print on the back cover – “This is a Seventh-day Adventist magazine?  I grew up as an SDA.”  Dave shared the disappointing circumstances many years ago when a sibling had died. However his heart remained open to accept material and DVDs, and the offer of a return visit by the local pastor.

Then visiting with Casey it wasn’t long before she shared about her chronic fatigue and how difficult it is to manage with her daily activities. Casey also shared a little about the tragedies she saw while living in a war torn country overseas. She is not connected to any church, but did say that it was her faith in God that helped her through those terrible times. Kate was very generous and gave a good donation for our U-Turn book and accepted to watch our Beyond DVDs.

A big thank you to Pr Justin Bone and the Stawell church members for their tremendous support and prayers as we visited the homes in their community. A special thank you to members Gary and Julie who invited us to stay in their home for Friday night. We will never forget the great evening we had together.

Please pray as the Stawell church now faithfully follow up those precious 29 contacts.

“But Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’ And He put His hands on their heads and blessed them before He left.” Matt 19:14&15

Jesus certainly loved little children. He loved to have them near. He enjoyed telling them stories and seeing their happy faces. There is something special about children. They bring us happiness and joy. How often are we blessed by the things they say and do.

Yesterday I went to minister to one of my customers. Little did I know that I was the one that was going to be ministered to. I was blessed in an amazing way. Amani is a lovely Catholic lady that has purchased many of our books and resources for her young family. Amani shared two beautiful dreams that her children, only days ago had dreamt. One of the children had a dream that while in the play ground, Jesus came up to her and started playing with her. The sparkle in Amani’s eyes, while she related the dream, was something to behold!!

The other child dreamt about the second coming of Jesus and shared with her mother how beautiful it was and how she cannot wait till Jesus returns.

How blessed I was when hearing these stories!! Amani then said, “And just before the two dreams, my 8 yr old son was asking me how long it will be before Jesus comes back!” This opened up a great discussion on the second coming of Jesus.

With every visit and delivery I am noticing more and more how God is using our Adventist resources in this family’s spiritual growth, and I am confident to say that their beliefs are now more aligned to the teachings of the bible.

Praise our God for Literature Ministry, and thank you God for the little children that you are using to be a blessing to us.
