God still works on Hot Days!

Yes it was warm the last couple of days.  Yesterday (Mid Jan) being the hottest with the day peaking at 36 degrees, but we are so glad that our God also works on hot days too.  Truly I sensed Him very near, moving hearts and orchestrating events.  In fact yesterday was one of the best days of my career.

 Just a few highlights….

I went to visit a lady by the name of Sue (name changed).  Sue had emailed IntraVic and it was forwarded to me.

Hi there my name is Sue and I am an old friend and customer of Joe, the book salesman.  Do you know him or know someone able to give him my number, through your church by any chance?

I've tried to look him up but can't remember his last name so makes it difficult.  My number is -------.  I know him because he was a good friend of my mother.  He checked up on her often and I’m not sure if he's aware that mum passed away.  It would be great to touch base.”

I hadn’t seen Sue for a number of years and it was so good to once again meet up with her.  She shared the sad story of the passing away of her mother and I listened.  God was very close as we talked and prayed together.  It was a real joy to minister to this beautiful young woman.  Sue purchased more of our resources and could not thank me enough for coming.

I had just left Sue’s home and got into my car when I received a phone call from one of my contacts in Ballarat.  I had knocked on Heather’s door a year and a half ago.  She did not purchase our books at the time but accepted to watch our Beyond DVDs.  I remember how before leaving her home I prayed for her and how moved she was, “It’s nice of you to pray for me.  I don’t have people come to my door and do that.”  Heather then shared how she is attending our Ballarat church regularly and thanked me for knocking on her door.  She also encouraged me to continue to do what I am doing and ordered our Family Medical Care, Medicinal Plants and Family Bible.  I was very humbled and moved by her phone call and I look forward to attending her baptism.

Visiting with Rose was exciting.  I delivered to her the DVD set, The Seventh Day by Hal Holbrook and then presented the Prophecy Code DVDs by Doug Batchelor and the Keepers of the Flame.  Once again God’s Spirit was at work on her heart and Rose was happy to purchase them both.

Our God also blessed with further experiences and purchases and it is a joy to work in partnership with Him and His church.  To see Him moving on hearts is truly special. Praise God for the lives that we are able to impact positively for Jesus.  Yes our God works on hot days!!!

LE end year reatreat at Jumbanna

Jumbunna Lodge, nestled on the lower slopes of Mt Toolegewong, and set in 40 acres, with scenic views over the picturesque Yarra Valley was the place chosen to have our Literature Evangelist retreat 2016.

Literature Evangelists from Victoria and Tasmania came together for a very special time of fellowship and reflection over the blessings of the past year. We truly thank our great and holy God for His leading over each one us.

Once again, the Victorian Literature Evangelist of the year award was given to Sandy Wallis for her faithful and consistent service. Congratulations Sandy.

The Tasmanian LE of the Year award went to Paul Borg, who earlier in the year returned to serve God in literature Ministry. His past years of LE experience will be instrumental in further growing the Tasmanian team. Congratulations Paul.

Atheist accepts Steps to Christ.

I knocked on Max’s front door and he came out from the side door.

“Hi my name is Paul Borg.” (I gave my door introduction) Max said, “I have met you before,” I did not recognise Max and then he said that I installed his Christian Satellite TV years ago. He has a better memory than what I have! “I am an Atheist.” Max said. “So why did you get the Christian TV?” I replied. “It has Thailand TV for my wife.” Max answered.

I felt impressed to give Max a Gospel Presentation at the front of his house. He, like many others, have been challenged with questions about God. Why are there so many Christians that do the wrong thing and are just hypocrites? Why are so many wars and battles fought over religion? Max had many other questions like this. I answered them as best I could and he was listening with an open heart.

“Max when you die, what would you rather look forward to, a grave where you will end up as nothing but dust or eternal life with God who is love and a place where there will be no more pain, suffering and death?” We continued for about 20 minutes sharing with Max that there is a God that loves him very much. I also helped Max to understand that God is not the kind of God that many have made Him out be – a God that is just waiting for us to do something wrong so He can punish us. He is not a vindictive judge or a wrathful tyrant. I helped Max to see that God is a God of love and life. Max listened with an honest heart, and as I continued, I could tell that he was open to God’s Holy Spirit speaking to his heart.

We talked some more and then I pulled out the book, Steps to Christ and said, “Max, read the first chapter of this book, ‘God is love’ and after you read the chapter, I am certain that you will enjoy the rest of this precious book. It’s Christ’s story of His love for you.”

Max accepted the book and I was so happy that God gave me the opportunity to present it to him.

Steps to Christ is a powerful book and has led many to Christ. My prayer is that Max too will be led to Jesus as he reads the pages of that inspired book.

God’s LEs are blessed and all those they minister to are blessed.

I love the words of the prophet in Colporteur Ministry pages 17 &18…

“I have been instructed that the canvassing work is to be revived, and that it is to be carried forward with increasing success. It is the Lord’s work, and a blessing will attend those who engage in it with earnestness and diligence.”

This week I had the privilege of working with two of our dedicated Literature Evangelists, Sandy Wallis and Sylvia Wall. And sure, a blessing was received by us and also those whom we ministered to as we served our God in His ordained end-time ministry.

To watch Sylvia reach out and take a young man’s hand and pray with him as he shared how he will soon be ‘kicked’ out of his mother’s home. To speak works of hope and encouragement to him and have him accept our literature was a blessing.

To see Sandy Wallis sit and minister patiently to a lovely elderly lady, who had not long ago lost her husband was a blessing. To watch this beautiful lady purchase our Today Tomorrow and You volume and to pray with her before leaving filled our hearts with joy.

God is using His Literature Evangelists and He orchestrates our daily movements in ways we cannot imagine. Earlier in the week I went to visit a lady that had her Direct Debit payments for her Bible DVDs stop. She wasn’t home and so I canvassed in her street. I was invited into the home of a lady across the road. She purchased our large family bible and asked if we had any children’s bible books. I promised her that I will be back with our children’s bible collection.

As I was leaving her home I noticed a car parked in the driveway of the lady I originally went to see. I went over and was invited in. She gave me her new bank details, purchased more bible DVDs and also gave me a referral to visit one of her friends.

Not long after, I parked in a quite street to make some phone calls. I noticed some children walking home from school. The older boy saw me in the car and yelled out, “Are you coming over?” They were the children of a previous customer I had not seen for a while. I followed God’s calling and went over to see the family…. Another large order!! They purchased our Bible Reference Library, Family Bible and Foods and their Healing Power.

Yes blessings are attending God’s Literature Evangelists… and why not? They are God’s servants engaged in His ordained end-time ministry. They are blessed and all those they minister to are blessed.
