Pr Craig Gillis - General Secretary

The Executive Committee met at the end of June, the night before the President, Pr Graeme Christian, left Melbourne to          attend the General Conference Session.  In His absence, Pr Craig Gillis, Conference Secretary, shares with us some of what    took place.

Three new companies were recognised, Pakenham Samoan Church Company, Craigiburn Samoan Church Company and Sunshine Samoan Church Company.  Congratulations to you all and may the Lord continue to bless you as you grow in Him.

With the dissolution of the Euroa Church in 2007, the building has had little use since and it was thus resolved to put the property on the market.

A new member was elected to the Executive Committee and we welcome Nic Bolto, an active member of Wantirna Church, and look forward to working with him.

The Conference received a bequest specified to be allocated to the Mission Field.  The Executive gladly directed it to the Vanuatu Mission which currently has great need.

Graeme Moffit, CFO, presented the may Operating report which showed a small surplus and a strong tithe income, and once again we thank you for your faithfulness.

And perhaps the most exciting action taken was in relation to the Hope Channel Broadcasting proposal, which which will see the establishment of an Australian-wide 24 hour Hope Channel, airing on Foxtel.  This will commence in 2016 at an estimated cost to the Victoiran Conference of approximately $200K per annum.  The high quality programming will have a key target audience of non Seventh-day Adventists.  The Board of Directors saw this as a timely strategic evangelistic initiative and so willingly gave a five-year commitment to the AUC for the Hope Channel Broadcasting proposal.
